Are You Experienced was released in 1967, the debut album from The Jimi Hendrix Experience, introducing Jimi Hendrix's radically inventive electric guitar playing to a wide audience after he had relocated to London and formed the trio with British musicians Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell. The album's guitar work was unlike anything else in rock at the time, drawing on blues tradition while pushing distortion, feedback and studio effects into genuinely new territory.
